Anti Money Laundering
Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Policy
Effective Date: October 2026
Royale Advisory Ltd, trading as Royale Corporate, is committed to the prevention of money laundering, terrorist financing, and other financial crime. This policy sets out our approach to compliance with the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017 (as amended), the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, and the Terrorism Act 2000.
1. Risk Assessment
Royale Corporate conducts a firm-wide risk assessment to identify, assess and mitigate the money laundering and terrorist financing risks to which our business is subject. This assessment is reviewed and updated at least annually.
2. Customer Due Diligence (CDD)
Royale Corporate applies Customer Due Diligence measures to all clients before establishing a business relationship. This includes:
- Identifying and verifying the identity of the client using government-issued photo identification
- Identifying and verifying the identity of beneficial owners
- Obtaining information on the purpose and intended nature of the business relationship
- Conducting ongoing monitoring of the business relationship
3. Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD)
Where a higher risk of money laundering or terrorist financing is identified, Royale Corporate applies Enhanced Due Diligence measures. Higher risk factors include:
- Clients from countries identified as higher risk by FATF or HM Treasury
- Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) and their associates
- Complex or unusual transactions that have no apparent economic purpose
- Non-face-to-face business relationships
4. Suspicious Activity Reporting
Royale Corporate's nominated officer is responsible for receiving and assessing internal suspicious activity reports (SARs). Where appropriate, SARs are submitted to the National Crime Agency (NCA) via the SAR Online portal. All employees are required to report any suspicion of money laundering or terrorist financing to the nominated officer.
5. Record Keeping
Royale Corporate retains all CDD records, transaction records, and supporting evidence for a minimum of 5 years from the date the business relationship ends, or from the date of the last transaction.
6. Training
All Royale Corporate staff receive regular training on money laundering awareness, identification of suspicious activity, and internal reporting procedures.
